“Music is the universal language of mankind.” – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Hello all

Struggling to write this morning, it’s now nearly 10 am and I have just got up and am on my first coffee. But on any other Sunday morning, I am normally up by 6.30, get myself a coffee, and I normally just write these weekly catch-ups off the cuff.

Have also been a bit busy this week with my personal life, and also brought myself a new tablet, and found this golf game, called WGT golf, and yes a little bit hook, add the combination that my wife and daughter went to stay at some friends last night, so I had the house to myself. So after a pot of Frankie’s best homemade chill con Carne, a glass of red was opened, and I ended up play to 2 am this morning, but I did make level 20 something, for those that are interested.

One thing that brightens my weekends up is a very old pal Chris Ryan, who over the weekend posts music videos and tags about 80 of us into the post on Facebook, he is like the Robin Williams of Paddington, ” Good Morning UK, Eire and Good Evening the Land of Oz” Chris is actually now based in Thailand. Well, this morning I have woken up to “Keeping it easy on this Sunday Morning/afternoon 👍👍 enjoy 👍👍” and this great song.

As for music this week, well a certain golf game has sort of got in the way, but I did get to listen to some.

I had a chilled out Sunday afternoon last week listening to Dire Straits ‎– Dire Straits, isn’t it funny this is a band I would not go near 20 years ago, but the more I listen the better this album gets. Do like Six Blade Knife

Monday’s work was done so had a sit-down and chill to a bit of early UB40, and UB40 ‎– Present Arms, love the 12″ inch that comes with this.

Later during the week was something that was realised this year with Amahla ‎– Where Do We Go From Here? there is just something about this lady’s songwriting and voice that just hits the right spot.

I drove my mother in law to the hairdressers Saturday morning, I don’t think the Tom Jones loving critic quite enjoyed The Jam ‎– In The City as much as I did, but she is 86!

The golf game was not going well, had the hours to myself, so decided to rock and funk out to The Red Hot Chili Peppers debut album.

Before attending Desperate Measures live set at Sounds of the Suburbs, great 5 songs set with just a vocalist and guitar, I picked up their new mini-album, Rinsed. While I was there I also picked up a copy of The B-52’s ‎– The B-52’s, Loving the Music fault this on, for his nice article The B52s and the Evolution of the Rock Lobster, and Tony at Sounds of the Suburbs, recommends this album as well.

In the post, a John Lee Hooker 4 album set turned up, so a little bit of blues in the future.

Oh how can I forget, I am off to see The Specials next Saturday, getting excited. Well, I got to go pick my mum up, I wonder if Julio Iglesias fanboy, likes The Jam!

May sneak in a quick 9 holes first.

Well, that’s it from me this week.

Stay safe all.

Oh, I have been listening to this on my daily commute.

I have always been putting together these playlists, I normally make up a playlist from a variety of different music genres and see if they fit together. So lately I have restricted myself to the albums I have posted about and have decided to share them with you, as we did in the old days with tapes

The only way I can think of sharing playlists these days is with something like Spotify, so above is some of what I have been listening to this week.
