“Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife.” Kahlil Gibran

Hello all

Last Sunday was spent listening to a random selection from Bryony Jarman-Pinto, I have been quite impressed with this lady’s output, and have started to listen to some of her songs that have been remix, started with Sweet Sweet (Wu-Lu Remix).

But it got me thinking about why I started this blog, the original idea was for me to take you through my music collection, but I had not accounted for the fact of me still buying music, and finding a new artist. I have always hated the saying music these days is crap, it was better back in my day. That is just nonsense, as there is some great stuff coming out, these days, Bryony Jarman-Pinto, Light The Fuse, and Sault are some of the new artists I have found recently, and hopefully, prove the point that modern music is just as good as what came before it.

During the week, I continued my story about how I started to get into reggae in Reggae Vibe 3, I enjoying reminiscing about my school days. I left school 38 years ago, but I am still in contact will a lot of my school mates, with the likes of Facebook and Whatapp, its so easy to do these days.

Had a bit of a giggle with my wife the other day, I had to pick her up from her mum’s on my way home from work, she didn’t quite enjoy Gary Moore CD as much as I did, on the way home. So when I parked up, I told her I got to go to the shop to get some tomatoes when I came back nearly an hour later, the wife started to question me, she said I thought you may have gone to get your hair cut, but when I walked into the front room with a bag Vinyl in tow, she just started laughing, ” I should of know” Yep during the week I had a very difficult choice, Barbers or Sounds of the Suburbs, and yep I still look like Albert Einstein. But I did get the tomatoes!

During the week I listened to a recent purchase CD, Gary Moore ‎– Blues For Greeny, a friend of mine Sue would call it cut your wrist music, but there is just something about the melancholy slow guitar blues that I really enjoy.

Friday night was spent with a very unique artist and her debut album, Björk ‎– Debut, and my wife was questioning whether I was going deaf. Don’t worry people I am not going deaf, just got that old man disease called, selective hearing, my dad had it for years.

Saturday morning has become a bit of recital, where over a black coffee I catch up on some of my favourite music blogs, loving the Music gave me a mention in his Mini-Feature about the band Equador, a good read about a band I knew nothing about, but they do feature Henry Binns (of Zero 7 fame).

My vinyl copy of Sault ‎– 5 turned up the other day, so a bit of Funk / Soul on a Saturday afternoon was had.

Well that all folks, I got to go get this hair done, our I may find my bags packed.

Stay safe all, and have a good week all.

Oh, I also listened to the below, on my way to work.

I have always been putting together these playlists, I normally make up a playlist from a variety of different music genres and see if they fit together. So lately I have restricted myself to the albums I have posted about and have decided to share it with you, as we did in the old days with tapes

The only way I can think of sharing playlists these days is with something like Spotify, so above is some of what I have been listening to this week.
