“Music — what a powerful instrument, what a mighty weapon!” – Maria August von Trapp

Hello all

Last Sunday I got my Covid jab, all good no side effect apart from a sore arm, and Sunday afternoon was spent listening to Raging Fyah ‎– Judgement Da, some nice chilled out roots reggae.

At work, we got the handover in the end, but it should never have been that tough. I had to cancel the building control demo once, and some were not happy with this or me, but I felt the life safety system were not ready, and as I do the demo with building control I was not going to put myself in that position or sign it off.

One morning going to work an old school mate, who is now a Fireman, posted a link about the cladding used Grenfell Tower and some of the shocking information that has come out. For those who don’t know, on 14 June 2017, a fire broke out in the 24-storey Grenfell Tower block of flats in North Kensington, West London, at 00:54 BST; it caused 72 deaths, one of them being Ernie Vital, who was in my class at school. They wonder why I am a pain in the arse about these things at work.

So I have to keep a cool head, and there is no better man than Amos Lee, and his debut album to help keep me calm.

On a side note, I have mention Ernie Vital before, and a funny story which you can read here .

VK Lynne from The Spider Accomplice, posted a thank you for my kind words on their album The Trap and to let me know my CD was on its way. It’s always nice when an artist takes time to contact you, and I explain my kind words are just my humble opinion. but I really enjoyed the album.

Friday night was spent with an old favourite, Talk Talk ‎– The Colour Of Spring with a bottle of Latvian beer that was given to me by a fellow co-worker. He also brought in two smoke catfishes, they tasted a lot better than they looked.

On Saturday morning I read a great article by Loving the Music, called Human Right’s Day – The Music behind the Holiday, which I found very educational, the article explores the role that music played during the 46-year-long apartheid regime in South Africa, worth a read.

This week, I cooked a beef hot pot, you know the one with the finely cut potatoes on top, it took about 3 hrs to make, but it was worth it, and none went to waste.

Stay safe all, and have a good week all.

Oh, I also listened to the below, on my way to work.

I have always been putting together these playlists, I normally make up a playlist from a variety of different music genres and see if they fit together. So lately I have restricted myself to the albums I have posted about and have decided to share it with you, as we did in the old days with tapes

The only way I can think of sharing playlists these days is with something like Spotify, so above is some of what I have been listening to this week.
