“With echoes of post-war vocal pop melded with contemporary folk-pop, the song offers a superb setting for Luce’s soft, rich voice. ” – Nashville Scene

Hello there

I am not sure how Lydia Luce ended up on my Bandcamp wishlist, but as soon as I heard that voice on the first song “Linens” I was hooked.

Lydia Luce is a folk/Americana singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Nashville, Tennessee. Brought up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Luce learned how to play viola and guitar from her mother, who conducted her own symphony orchestra. Her mother was also an organ and a piano player, and her brother, a cellist. By age 13, Luce was performing with her mother’s orchestra Ars Flores.
In 2015, Luce released her first EP The Tides. It reminds me of when I use to buy Uncut magazine and every so often they would have a CD on the cover of Americana music, I have found some great acts this way. This 5 song EP, has a touch of country/folk to it, a genre I don’t know a lot about.
But I am always open to hearing new material, and I like to broaden my musical horizons. The EP although a bit on the short side is not all about ballads either, there is one up-tempo song “Golden Eyes”, which has some nice guitar licks.

Going to leave you with the duet with Zach Torres “Stay the Night” I am looking forward to hearing more from this artist.

Fruitless Fact: Luce has also recorded with Joe Pisapia, Joshua Hedley, Eminem, Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson

For the geeks: I have the Flac files from Bandcamp.
