“Music is the strongest form of magic.” – Marilyn Manson

Hello all

Last Sunday afternoon was filled with funk and soul, from the elusive Sault and their debut album 5, and what a nice find.

The best albums to make your Hi-Fi sing, essential albums for audiophiles, etc etc, I have been reading these lists for years, and yep I do own some albums on these lists. And some of these albums are so well recorded, you can smell what the singer had for breakfast, but the most important thing is to me, you got to love what you are listening to, otherwise what the point! So I have started my own list with, Frankie Gimmie 5: Reference albums 1. Not sure where I am going with these, though it all up one day going to work on the train.

Out of pour coincidences, my fellow writer about all things musical Loving the Music wrote about the Stereo MC’s which have their album Connected featured in my reference list.

My wife has never read my ramblings on this blog, well she has had to put up with my music for over 30 years. I told her that I had written about the National Front and the Ku Klux Klan. She did make me laugh when she warned me that I should be careful, there are some nutters out there and they may come after me. So please if anyone sees a couple of hooded men down Ruislip high street, let me know! You can read all about it in my post about Steel Pulse ‎– Handsworth Revolution

It’s my daughters 21st, and she was having some friends around, in these times of lockdown, we are allowed 6 people, so on Good Friday I put a gazebo up, chopped up some firewood, and 101 other jobs. Then I was banished to the man cave while they made the front room pretty with balloons and stuff. So I decided to play the Arctic Monkeys ‎– Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, was told a couple of times to turn it down, something has seriously gone wrong, I am meant to be king of this castle. Well, a good night was had by all, I even showed a couple of lads how to skank.

Easter Saturday, was my daughters actual 21st birthday, this night we let her have a couple of her mates around, I prepared all the food for them, I left them to it, while I enjoyed myself with a few ciders and an old favourite for company, The Specials ‎– More Specials, and a few others including some bloke from Siberian making Hip hop, a British Classic Rock group 1978 debut, and a British Reggae band 1976 debut.

With my birthday coming up, I was looking at something I could buy myself, a few days ago a link popped up about the Selector were going to Re-release Too Much Pressure as a Deluxe Edition 3CD + 12″ Black Vinyl, very tempting.

Dirt Royal has posted about a new song they are working on Check it out! I am, looking forward to hearing new material from these lads, as I was impressed by their last album Dirt Royal ‎– Great Expectations.

Well that all folks.

Stay safe all, and have a good week all.

Oh, I also listened to the below, on my way to work.

I have always been putting together these playlists, I normally make up a playlist from a variety of different music genres and see if they fit together. So lately I have restricted myself to the albums I have posted about and have decided to share it with you, as we did in the old days with tapes

The only way I can think of sharing playlists these days is with something like Spotify, so above is some of what I have been listening to this week.
