“Where words leave off, music begins.” – Heinrich Heine

Hello all

Last Sunday was a lazy day, it was my daughters 21st the day before, and we had some of her friends around trying to stay within the lockdown rules. Its been tough for her and her friends during these lockdown periods, and not being able to socialise, I know what I was like at that age, so I do feel sorry for her generation at the moment, it’s been her second birthday in lockdown. But I thought it was nice to see them gathered together again, and just chewing the fat with each other. I can not wait to see my mates for a bit of socialising, when it happens I could be on one of them Facebook missing person ads.

I have also have had 2 birthday in lockdown, and as my birthday falls at the end of the tax year, April 5th. My dad always called me a stubborn so & so or words to that nature.

“Even when you were born you made me sweat and left it till the last minute” he would say.

Let me explain, back in the ’60s, if you have children you got tax relief. So if I was born on April 6th, my dad would not have got a penny, so me being me, was born 15 minutes to midnight on April 5th. The way my dad put it ” I was going to give you 5 more minutes, then I was going to jump in myself and pull you out”

I got given some really nice port and cheeses for my birthday cheers Tina & Sue, so on my birthday which fell on Easter Bank holiday Monday, I enjoyed port and cheese, while listening to Light The Fuse ‎– Jazz Echo, a nice album of Hip Hop from Siberian. I am so Rock and roll.

During the week, I took myself out of my comfort zone, and listened to a bit of classic rock, with Dire Straits debut album called Dire Straits.

My Cd from The Spider Accomplice of their debut album The Trap arrived, and rock out with this one night.

Friday night was spent with a band that formed in the area I grew up in, I have not heard this album in full for a long time, Aswad debut album called Aswad. Saturday was spent chilling to a Trojan Records Compilation from 1968, some remixes of Bryony Jarman-Pinto songs, and an Electric Blues album from 1995.

Two very important things happen next week, RECORD SHOPS OPEN!, so I got to plan a visit to Sounds of the Suburbs, as he has been holding onto a couple of albums for me, but I am sure while I am in there I may get a couple more, just don’t tell the wife.

Next week BARBERS OPEN! I have started to look like Albert Einstein without the tash.

Well that all folks.

Stay safe all, and have a good week all.

Oh, I also listened to the below, on my way to work.

I have always been putting together these playlists, I normally make up a playlist from a variety of different music genres and see if they fit together. So lately I have restricted myself to the albums I have posted about and have decided to share it with you, as we did in the old days with tapes

The only way I can think of sharing playlists these days is with something like Spotify, so above is some of what I have been listening to this week.
